School Tours

The future of our country depends on the career decisions our children make, and manufacturing is an industry that needs to boom again to help our economy grow.

Flying S has hosted a number of local schools and colleges to tour the facility in order to encourage students to consider a career in engineering or manufacturing.

If your class is interested in scheduling a tour please click on the Tours tab and complete the form on the tour tab or call us at (618) 586-9999 to make arrangements.

NEW: Now that we have a chef on staff, with advance notice we can offer lunch and a tour for a small price.

Flying S Summer Workshops - Cadets & Rookie Aviators

In 2014 Flying S began a program designed to give local students the opportunity to learn about science in a fun and engaging way. Since then they have hosted interactive workshops about Bridge Building, Co2 Pine Car Derby, Rockets, Egg Drops and more.

Last summer we hosted 4 evenings of workshops. For our Cadets (under 14), they built Rockets, Telescopes and Pine Derby Cars. For our Rookie Aviators (14+) they built a carbon fiber chessboard with 3D printed chess pieces, flew a drone mission and built a Pine Derby Car.

Each workshop will last two hours. Most Cadet parents stay through the evening to help with younger children, parents can drop off or stay with Rookie Aviators. Event times are always listed on Facebook, so become a fan today to stay in the loop!

2024 workshop registrations will be posted soon.
